Good evening, Matheny Families,
Tomorrow, we will be holding our 3rd FACE Meeting in the library at 4:00 p.m.
You may be wondering, What is FACE? FACE stands for Family, Community, and Engagement. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for families to share their voices, connect with our school community, and help us plan events and activities that are engaging and beneficial for both students and families.
We are looking for six parent representatives, with representation from each grade level at Matheny. Your voice matters, and your input will help us ensure that our school community continues to feel welcoming, connected, and engaged.
We are asking for a commitment of one hour per month to participate in these meetings.
If you are interested and able to participate, please let me know. We would love to have you join us!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our students and school community!
Here is a picture of our nicely decorated Book Fair.

Good Evening, Families! š
We are excited to kick off our 4th Annual Scholastic Book Fair! Our students are looking forward to another wonderful opportunity to explore new books and discover the joy of reading!
To give families additional time to shop, the Book Fair will remain open until 6:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. We hope you will stop by and share in the excitement with your child!
Our goal this year is to raise enough funds to provide every teacher with $30 in Scholastic Dollars to purchase books for their classroom libraries. Your support will help us put more books into the hands of our students and continue building a love for reading throughout our school.
Every purchase makes a difference! šā¤ļø
Thank you for your continued support of our students, teachers, and school community. We look forward to seeing you at the Book Fair!
With appreciation,
Ms. Morris
F.A.C.E. Liaison
Good Morning, Families!
We are excited to announce that our 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat is still scheduled to take place today! If you are participating by decorating a trunk, please plan to arrive at 1:00 p.m.
We are truly grateful to have more than 20 parents, grandparents, and loved ones generously volunteering their time to make this event special for our students. Your kindness, dedication, and willingness to support our school community are such a blessing!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed in any capacity. Whether you donated candy, plan to bring candy, decorated a trunk, or volunteered your time, please know that your generosity and support do not go unnoticed.
It truly takes a village, and we are blessed to have such an amazing school family! Together, we are creating wonderful memories and meaningful experiences for our students.
Thank you for helping make our 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat a success! šš¬
With gratitude,
Ms. Morris

Don't forget to send your change for United Way so Mrs. Harris will be taped to the wall!
Good morning, families!
We have a busy and exciting week ahead of us!
Today, each student will bring home a pumpkin, generously provided by our farmer friends, Farmer Alan and his sister, Julie. We are so grateful for their kindness and generosity!
We will also be kicking off our Book Fair following Trunk or Treat this Friday at 1:00 p.m. A flyer with additional information will be sent home today and again on Thursday.
We are still looking for a few more families to help fill our circle drive for Fridayās event. If you are available to volunteer, please complete the form and return it to school, or email me at **mmorris@sps186.org** with your name and your studentās name to let me know you will be joining us.
Thank you in advance for your continued support, generosity, and involvement. We appreciate all you do to make our school community so special!
Have a wonderful day!

Would your student like to see Mrs. Harris taped to our gym wall? To raise money for our United Way Campaign, students will bring in their change to fill our United Way Jar. If we fill the jar, all students will help tape Mrs. Harris to the wall!

Reminder: Students will be dismissed at 2:30 tomorrow for parent-teacher conferences. There is also no school on Friday for conferences. If you haven't scheduled your conference, please call the school tomorrow to set one up!
Don't forget about our Spirit Week this week!

Good afternoon families and staff,
Today at dismissal we are giving away cereal bags, oatmeal and granola bars. Bags are already prepared and packed. We look forward to seeing you in the car lane at dismissal until it's all gone. Thank you to Central Illinois Food-bank.
Check out this amazing resource for laundry support in our community!

Did you hear about our awesome Surprise Attendance Day? On Thursday, students who came to school were greeted by signs, noisemakers, bubbles, music, and even some characters! Then at lunch, all students received a slushie! It was a wonderful time to celebrate the importance of coming to school!

Hello, Matheny Families!
Today we had TWO very special visitors at Matheny! Superintendent Dr. Jordan and Clifford made an appearance in our hallways! They visited each student and ended their visit with a read-aloud by Dr. Jordan of the book Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Scholastic provided two books to each K-2 classroom, and every Matheny student received a very special sticker!
What a wonderful way to spend our Tuesday at Matheny-Withrow!

Good afternoon Families
Today we will have a food giveaway at 2:30pm. We will have pork loin, ground pork, apples, potatoes, frozen blueberries and strawberries for families to enjoy. We hope to see you today at 2:30pm.
